The weather was chilly this weekend and it was the perfect time to lounge around the house in my cozy polka dot socks and over-sized sweater. It's really this time of the year that I become inspired by vintage + rustic elements, as well as modern mountain homes, for the beautiful wood tones and cabin like feels.

With an original color palette of romantic pinks and neutrals around the house, I decided to bring in more rich wood tones and vintage accessories to create a happy mix of both feminine and masculine styles. The result... a warm and inviting space for the Fall and Winter months.

Our living room seems to be the hub for many of our family gatherings and since the future room for our home office is currently being used for storage, I thought, why not set-up a multi-functional area in the living room, which is the primary place where we gather as a family.

It's use: an office nook, a place for the kids to do their nightly homework, and a secondary spot for eating when we have family and friends over for dinner.

Bring in a few touches of lived in vintage items, as I did in the vase and gold frames, which add warmth and soul to this space.

I love how simply elegant and functional this office nook turned out to be. Everything was thoughtfully styled, from the rustic and textured elements to the romantic hues in the flowers, vintage books, and wool pillow. In the details, a farmhouse basket worked perfectly as catch-all for mail and keys, while wooden bins served well as a place to store paperwork and tidbits. Overall, this space came together nicely and I couldn't be happier with the result!

Warmly ~
