Simple Bronzed Makeup Routine

Saturday, August 12, 2017

I think I fell into the laid back charm of Summer, as I've noticed a transition to a more simplistic makeup routine. With the rain forest feel of the weather lately, something minimal with powder products have turned out to work the best during the hottest part of this Texas Summer. A bronzed look with a radiant glow is exactly what I've been loving ... universal for the end of the season and perfect for the upcoming rich colors that Autumn makeup brings. Keep reading to see the essentials that help me create a simple bronzed makeup look, with a makeup tip you have to try.

1 . Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil:  I don't think I've ever written a beauty post without mentioning a Josie Maran product. I've been using argan oil for years as my daily moisturizer and it has helped to keep my skin clear, supple, and youthful. It's actually one of my beauty secrets for maintaining a youthful complexion because it's high in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Interestingly enough, essential fatty acids help to balance moisture in your skin, reducing oily skin. So, although I have dry/normal skin, this facial oil can be beneficial for even oilier skin types.  I like to press a few drops of argan oil onto my face and to my under-eye area to prep for the next step in this speedy makeup look.

2 .  Juice Beauty Organic SPF 30 Tinted Moisturizer: After my smoothing primer, I apply my new favorite base, that provides a radiant sheer glow with the benefits of SPF 30. I've been so impressed with this tinted moisturizer that I haven't put it down since I purchased it at the beginning of the Summer. It smells so good and it's an excellent base if you want a gorgeous "glow from within", before adding a touch of foundation. LOVE this organic skincare product so, so much!

3 . Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Medium Neutral: I first discovered this product during one of my yearly Summer visits to California and it has been a staple in my makeup bag ever since. It provides a hydrating and creaseless result that I haven't found in any other product, making it perfect as an under-eye concealer. I feel sometimes that finding the perfect under-eye concealer is like finding the perfect pair of jeans. I don't know how many concealers I've tried before zoning in on this makeup gem. For the best results, take the tiniest amount (a little goes a very long way), and warm it onto your fingertips or on the back of your hand, before pressing it onto the under-eye area. I tap and press the product until it melts right into the skin and I use any excess to conceal other areas I need to.

4 .  Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow: Often, I've seen a single bronzer as a quick multi-tasker for contouring and eye shadow application. However for more dimension, I really like using a combination of two bronzers to get that sexy sun-kissed look. Trust me, you'll love the results, especially with this combo! I use the TF Chocolate Soleil Bronzer for contouring my cheekbones and sides of my forehead. I then follow with CT's Filmstar Bronze and Glow to lightly contour the sides of my nose and as an eye shadow combo. I apply the highlighter all over the lid and the bronzer to the crease and outer corner of my eye lids. The highlighter in the Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette is also AMAZING! It gives the prettiest glow to my cheekbones & cupid's bow and I love using it with my fluffy fan brush from EcoTools!

5 . Charlotte Tilbury 'Cheek to Chic' Blush:  With a swirl & pop, this duo colored blush in Ecstasy has been my go-to this month. It's a pretty peachy pink shade with a touch of shimmer that looks blissful on the apples of my cheeks. Makeup tip: To create a seamless look between your bronzer, highlighter, and blush, gently buff a light layer of translucent power in circular motions, over your cheeks and all the way up to your temples. The key is to use a soft brush like this from Wayne Goss, to achieve an air brushed, ethereal look.  This is a makeup tip definitely worth trying!

What I love most about a bronzed look, is that it's so neutral to go with any nude or colorful lip. A great transitional look for the Fall. For now, this is the lip pencil and lipsticks I've been using lately:

My daily lip pencil in Iconic Nude,
Lipsticks, here in Stockholm, and this
Mac lipstick in the color Doe.

I've also linked a couple of other makeup products that I love and use, but have been optional for everyday lately.  Have you tried any of these makeup products? Are there any makeup tips you'd love to share?

Warmly ~

    1. I'm so glad you like the images and I'm now figuring out the best times during the day to get the dreamy lighting I've been looking for. I think less is more and I've been really zoning in on simpler looks that are effortless and youthful at the same time. I think you would really love the tinted moisturizer and concealer a bunch! They're very light and get the job done well. Thanks again and have a wonderful week! xx
