Tablescapes for Autumn Entertaining

Autumn is the perfect season for hosting outdoor dinner parties, as cooler weather graces us and nature all around seems to look beautiful and rich. Many of us have been busy with work, kids, pets, traveling and much more, leaving little room for anything else. Hosting a dinner party is a brilliant way to get together with those you love and care for, to share stories of all you've been up to since the Summer. You can keep it simple by serving mini appetizers or a big platter of your favorite dish, along with good wine. don't need a fancy backyard or venue to make it happen.  Just create an intimate set up on your balcony, patio or small area in your backyard and you are good to go!

I'm excited about planning a dinner party for October, and today I'm sharing with you my picks for tablescapes - perfect for Autumn entertaining.

Jewel tones, such as Emerald Green, Cranberry, and Plum are all popular colors for this season. Pick your favorite tone and make it the main color of your tablescape. Incorporate the color in your napkins, place cards, candle votive's, and/or glassware and use neutrals everywhere else to balance out the look.

I love the use of black during autumn because it's modern and classic.  Some may shy away from such a dark color, but when used in the right spots and with the right colors (white and gold), black can add tons of sophistication to a table setting. This is my number 1 pick this Autumn season!

Style Tip: A mini bouquet of flowers with a personalized tag makes a beautiful take home favor for your guests. Use wild flowers, rosemary sprigs, olive leaves or a bundle of green foliage and tie them together using a leather cord or twine of your choice.

Entertaining doesn't have to be expensive and time consuming. Using natural elements like tree slice place mats, wooden serving platters, tree foliage, and mason jars are beautiful on their own. Sometimes less is more.
It's no surprise that adding texture + pattern makes the list for a gorgeous tablescape.  Integrate textured and patterned fabrics, glassware, vases, and decor for added dimension and liveliness to your look. I like to think of it as a dance of elements from one beautiful piece to another. Your guests will surely love and appreciate all the detail and time you spent to make it extra special for them.

Make the dinner party fun and casual with poufs or over-sized cushions for seating. Lower tables will be needed, like coffee tables or stacked wooden palettes, but the look is unique and creative. This is perfect for indoor or outdoor dinner parties and will be a favorite among all your guests.

I really look forward to this time of the year because it's truly the best opportunity to bring everyone together before the holidays. If you think about it, we only seem to get together with family and friends during birthday celebrations and weddings, but rarely "just because."

So whether it's to spend time with 1 person or 8 people, make this occasion special and fun with your creative details. Staying connected is so important for our well being and it's always nice to step away for an evening of laughter and good company.

Warmly ~
